PROFESSOR SCREECH, Om.G, LOL EXPERTOLOGY
OFFICIAL EXPERT (They/Them) Professor Screech is double extra qualified, holding both a Om.G and LoL in Expertology. How much more expert can you be? None. None more expert. Together with Audubon Everglades, the Professor knows that access to green space and mental and physical wellbeing are connected. That's why they lead all-ages public and private programs combining outdoor nature-based education and awesome creative-reuse art projects focused on birds, bugs, plants, or general nature-y expertism. The Prof says that through STEAM (science, technology, engineering, ART, and math) education, art gives a soul to science, so look out for Professor Screech and Audubon Everglades throughout South Florida, where you'll find them practicing their own brand of STEAM silliness addressing environmental, social, and health issues. You can even join the team and assist Audubon Everglades and Professor Screech! So what are you waiting for? BE A BIRD-BRAIN WITH PROFESSOR SCREECH! Contact them! DANGERBIRD
(Pronouns unknown) Dangerbird is an enigma wrapped in a riddle wrapped in a hundred yards of caution tape and construction fencing. It seeks out environmental injustice and works to rectify it, whether through education, public awareness or simply gathering signatures on a petition. But we never know where this elusive avian will be found. If you spot Dangerbird, help us gather more data on this unique species by posting its picture and location on Instagram and tagging @AudubonEverglades and @Wildness.is.Necessary. "Sydney and I really enjoyed learning from you. The experience was super fun and you are a joy to spend time with! We both appreciate how willing you are to share your expertise and experiences...I also wanted to say that I really appreciated your communication and detail-orientation while setting up our session. The information you shared in your emails was very thorough and your invoicing was professional. I really appreciate this as a mom and a former teacher and school administrator. ... My experience with you was exceptional."

about autumnThe creation and transmission of a narrative is integral to Autumn's work as an artist, naturalist and storyteller; the best kind of "going viral."
Using inspirations from nature, animal documentaries and scientific studies, their own search for identity and community, and processes including botanical and traditional printmaking, collagraph, cyanotype, pen and ink, non-traditional watercolor techniques, found object art, journaling, narrative and poetry, they create two and three dimensional art and installation, as well as programming and performances. Autumn is currently on the Board of Directors of Audubon Everglades in South Florida, and serves as Co-chair of Education and Outreach. Past artist residencies and collaborations include the NYC Audubon Society, the Santa Fe Art Institute, Art Monastery Italia (Italy), NOoSphere Arts, Rohi's Readery, ecoAmerica, Resource Depot, Wild Bird Fund, American Littoral Society, and more. It is Autumn's wildest hope that the narratives they create bring viewers and participants closer to an understanding that humans are of nature and not separate from it; dismantling the idea of the scala naturae, and planting our feet firmly on the Earth beside our non-human brethren. And maybe creating a little magic and silliness too. |
about wildness is necessaryWILDNESS IS NECESSARY IS NOW PARTNERING WITH AUDUBON EVERGLADES!!
Wildness is Necessary is a project connecting art, nature, and environmental/social justice. STEAM is an acronym that does a lot of heavy lifting; it stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. What a great concept; combining the arts and sciences for a more wholistic and fulfilling education. Add the idea of social and environmental justice, equal liberty among all people and the creation of "cultural norms and values, rules, regulations, behaviors, policies, and decisions to support sustainability, where all people can hold with confidence that their community and natural environment is safe and productive (greenaction.org)," and you've got Wildness is Neccessary! Through a combination of STEAM and social justice programming, workshops, animal and nature encounters, performances and collaborations I seek to provide programming spanning age, lifestyle, and community, regardless of financial means. Together we will prove that not only can we all be artists and environmental stewards, but that we can make a difference and create a better future for every organism with which we share our tiny blue planet. |
